A few days later, the hijacked USS Athena prototype was spotted in the Igasu Rift. Her flight path was certainly erratic, but the general direction was towards the Fiore VII colony. A prime target for the misuse of its complement of Quantum Torpedoes. With the USS Vajra and USS Xiamen a fair distance away, the Klingons were first to the scene. However, the Teb'Rikan militants put up too much of a fight, utilizing the Athena's technological advantage. Fortunately, lack of coordination and technical expertise blunted their assaults.

Still, this further angered Captain Los'Pek and his comrades, whose pride was still recovering from his previous loss. Needless to say, he quickly broke the specific instructions from his Starfleet peers and unleashed the full arsenal of his Ker'La Class Bird of Prey. After a few seconds of sustained disruptor volleys, the "Flight of the Athena" finally came to an explosive end. The burly captain clearly savored the victory, personally boarding the stricken ship and slitting the throat of the lead hijacker.

The Klingon definition of "disable" is a skewed interpretation at best. And it was painfully awkward to see the "outdated" Saber Class USS Vajra towing the new Athena back to base. The folks at the shipyards will have one hell of a time putting the ship back together.
