Aussie Banshee

The RAAF notably chose the F/A-24 Banshee II to replace their aging F-111C Aardvarks. Australia's government placed an order for 25 aircraft in 2005 - at the cost of A$ 3.4 billion. In 2011, No. 1 Squadron became an operational F/A-24A unit, with the first batch of Banshees based in RAAF Base Amberley.

Additional F/A-24's will be acquired in the coming years as the budget allows. Several Ghosts have also been slated to be upgraded to the EA-24B Haunter standard.
